Rest Day in Woebley
Today was our first of two scheduled rest days on this tour. We spent the day resting our bike legs and visiting the nearby city of Hereford, which is located on the River Wye. It was an easy and economical commute to Hereford and back on the public bus. Hereford is a large, busy town with many shops, restaurants and businesses . . . and a bike shop, which we, of course, visited. The main attraction in Hereford is the Hereford Cathedral, which dates back to the year 1079 and holds the Mappa Mundi, a medieval map of the world dating back to the 13th century. After touring the city for a while, we caught the bus back to Woebley and had a relaxing afternoon before catching an early dinner at a local pub with some of our fellow riders. Tomorrow, on well-rested legs, we will resume our journey north to the town of Harmer Hill.
